The Desolation of Smaug

It’s looming. It’s getting ever so close and I am absolutely buzzing for it. I’ve got three posters from somewhere on Google and thought I’d share them with you, so let’s have a nice little discussion about the pure awesomeness that we be bestowed upon us before long!

Here we see Martin Freeman/Bilbo Baggins/Dr. Watson kinda breaking the fourth wall, looking rather worried at something. Ooh there’s going to be a lot more of this facial expression, seeing as that’s all there was in the first one. Not saying this is a bad thing, I love his character 😀

This one’s all dramatic, right? Right?? It’s all misty and mysterious and vague but we know exactly what’s going to happen. For those of you who need it explaining, Bilbo is going in that big scary door. Yah.

I do believe this is the latest one in which we are shown Benedict Cumberbatch’s scarily yellow eye with Bilbo in the reflection. Looks like there’s gonna be a massive fight. Beaut. (Btw, it’s not actually Benedict’s eye. He’s not a dragon IRL)

So we’re all excited, yes?? AND LEGOLAS IS IN THIS ONE. Score! 😉

Entering the World of Winter

image

I know I’m ridiculously late to the scene, but today I have started my quest to watch Game of Thrones. Which I’m finding amazing by the way. Of course, I knew it was going to be astounding from all the hype on the internet about it (sites like Imgur have been ridic crazy about it, and unfortunately I’ve encountered spoilers along the way, but what else could I expect leaving it this long to watch it?) I’ve just put episode 5 of season 1 into my DVD player – Sean Bean whatta man – and I can tell its going to be a long but interesting night. I need to be up early too; I’ve started a Wii Fit regime (almost nostalgic right??) because it’s summer and I’m at home for the next three weeks which means I shall be eating lots and doing nothing ie. watching Game of Thrones.

I’m really looking forward to watching the rest of it and afterwards may have to steal the books off my Mum (whose birthday it was today, just sayin’). Tell you what though, it doesn’t half make me want to watch Lord of the Rings, not just because of Beanie… ha.

Anyway! Also thought I’d say thank you guys because today I hit 50 WordPress followers! I know it’s nothing much, especially compared to some of you, but I’m pretty stoked about it. Cheers anyway! Hope you’re still with me after this post 😉

Review: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

All you have to do now is go to your local cinema and buy a ticket to see The Hobbit, The-Hobbit-Posterbefore you’ve even read what I have to say. I think it’s safe to say that we all knew that this film would be amazing, especially if we’ve already seen The Lord of the Rings Trilogy which we all have of course…right?

From start to finish, in fact before the film even started I loved it and even though it’s massive in its length it doesn’t feel like you’re sitting there for three hours. True to tradition, it’s exciting, action packed and amazing to watch, New Zealand is so pretty! And as a bonus for everyone, Martin Freeman is in it. I’ve seen it twice now and admittedly, the first time I kept thinking every so often, ‘Why is John Watson fighting trolls?’ but it wasn’t an issue and then the second time he was all Bilbo, no Watson. He’s so cute, one of Britain’s gems and I think he was the perfect choice for sweet lil Bilbo Baggins, who actually turns out to be a badass.

And Gandalf! Ah!

I told myself I wouldn’t say much about this film because you already know how amazing it is, even before you’ve seen it and I just know that you’ll be seeing it pretty soon. Enjoy.

And I already bought a poster and a calendar. Beaut.

Film, Misc.

Note to self: I like cake.

The title may have been taken from good old American Dad but I do like cake. Lots of it. And I’ve been eating lots of it but hey, it’s Christmas. It’s kind of the law to eat till you’re fat at Christmas. Don’t break the law please.

I bought the Lord of the Rings extended DVDs today, not quite sure why I’m not watching them yet although I am pretty sleepy right now. Especially after I’ve just put a face mask on and my cheeks now smell of yoghurt. Sweet.

I still don’t think I’ve quite grasped what blogs are actually for, probz not for talking about yoghurt smelling face masks. But that’s as exciting as things are getting right now. Also, you know how amazing my kindle is; well, I discovered the other day that you can type on it by dragging your finger across the keyboard. It’s pretty ace to tell you the truth. And if anyone dares tell me that iPads have been able to do that for years, I warn you now you will be sorry.

But happy new year anyway to everyone 🙂

Here’s a picture of my famalam at a recent get together. N’aww.
